Huge Autumn Cleaning and Move
Autumn is the perfect time to clean the corners of your home and simultaneously free up mental space. For Mari, this autumn is a time of wonderful renewals, as the family has jointly decided to move out of their beloved home and retreat into the heart of nature in the forest. Their current home was once a dream come true: a well-renovated log house one kilometer from Heinola city center, near schools, by a body of water, and at the end of a small dead-end road bordering a forest park.

Mari's family's lovely home will soon be for sale on Oikotie.
Over time, a peaceful oasis has been built in the yard, featuring all the elements Mari loves, such as a lush garden, a chicken coop for silkie chickens, a greenhouse, and a large fenced dog yard for Pepe and Siru. The house was wonderfully located near schools yet nestled in nature. This summer, a new dream began to form during a canoeing trip. The proximity to schools matters less now that the youngest will soon be driving themselves. We go to the forest by car whenever possible anyway, so why not live in the forest then?
Mari's move as a reason for a complete clean-up
Selling the home has been an excellent incentive to clear out ten years' worth of accumulated items from the cupboards. Many cubic meters of furniture and goods have gone to the landfill and recycling groups. Several bars of cleaning soap have been used as windows, ceilings, floors, walls, doors, and furnishings have been freed from layers of dirt and dust.
This time Mari cleaned directly from the bar with a bamboo cloth. The cleaning spray was also used effectively, but wiping windows, indoor ceilings, and greasy range hoods was quickest by rubbing cleaning soap onto the bamboo cloth and directly onto the dirty surface. Rinsing the surface was easy by turning the cloth to the other side and wiping it clean.
Toxic-free Laundry Washing
The washing machine has been singing as many unwashed textiles were found in the corners. Mari prepares her own laundry powder like this:
1. Grate half a cleaning soap bar finely (Mari likes citrus)
2. Add 1/2 dl of salt (sea salt)
3. Add 3 dl of baking soda and mix well.
About one tablespoon of this powder is used per load of laundry.
Laundry Vinegar with Two Scents
The end result is perfected by Elsan Ekopaja's wonderful and effective laundry vinegar, which comes in harmonious scents to accompany your grated soap: Citrus and Lavender laundry vinegar. Elsan Ekopaja's laundry vinegars are 100% what they promise: fermented vinegar and essential oil. We do not dilute the product with water, nor do we add "oceanic fragrances" to it. We want to minimize our environmental impact, so there's no need to bottle water with the vinegar. A small capful in your laundry is enough, and you'll get soft, fluffy, and wonderfully fresh-smelling laundry. Try it especially for washing sportswear.
Jenni's Autumn Cleaning
For Jenni, autumn cleaning at home means organizing and creating small, cozy nests. Jenni enjoys her laundry powder unscented, the toilets with lavender, and the kitchen absolutely needs a citrus scent.
An effective cleaning spray for all household cleaning is made like this:
1. Grate about 1 tsp of Anna cleaning soap with your desired scent.
2. Slip the grated soap into an empty spray bottle.
3. Fill the bottle with hot tap water.
4. Shake and wait for about 5 minutes.
With this spray, you can dissolve all stains from surfaces, toilets, and floors. Let the spray work for a few minutes, and for example, stubborn and burnt pots will regain their shine without strenuous scrubbing.
New product in development!

Do you have areas in your home that you haven't been able to clean from stubborn dirt and want to try nature's own effective methods? Are eco-friendliness and non-toxicity important elements for you in cleaning, but grating is too tedious?
