The effectiveness of oil cleansing and the healing properties of calendula

Oil cleansing is not just about removing makeup – it's a gentle skin treatment that maintains its natural moisture balance. EkoElsa's calendula-infused, emulsifying cleansing oil milk leaves the skin soft, supple, and clean without feeling tight. In this blog, we'll tell you why oil cleansing is beneficial, who it's suitable for, how to perform oil cleansing, and how to achieve a perfect deep cleanse with EkoElsa's three products.

The calendula-infused cleansing oil milk combines the power of oil cleansing with the soothing properties of calendula. Suitable for all skin types – learn how to do a perfect deep cleanse at home.

Why should you oil cleanse?

Oil cleansing is one of the most effective ways to remove dirt, makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum from the skin. Oil gently dissolves oil-based impurities – without drying surfactants. Unlike many foaming cleansers, oil cleansing preserves the skin's natural protective barrier and prevents tightness.

EkoElsa's calendula-infused cleansing oil milk offers an additional benefit: the soothing and regenerating properties of calendula help reduce redness, irritation, and dryness.

What skin type is oil cleansing suitable for?

Oil cleansing is suitable for all skin types – including oily and acne-prone skin, as long as the product is light and non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging). EkoElsa's Calendula Cleansing Oil Milk contains light botanical oils that enhance skin elasticity, which is why it also keeps pores open and visibly smaller.

  • Dry skin: Oil retains moisture and prevents tightness.

  • Sensitive skin: Calendula soothes and reduces redness.

  • Combination skin: Balances sebum production and prevents blockages.

  • Aging skin: Oil cleansing supports skin elasticity and helps maintain skin radiance.

How to use calendula cleansing oil milk?

  1. Apply the product to dry skin with dry hands.

  2. Massage gently in circular motions to dissolve makeup and impurities.

  3. Add a little warm water – the oil emulsifies into a soft milk.

  4. Wipe the skin with a dry EkoElsa eco cloth. The eco cloth should be washed immediately after cleansing with Anna's cleaning soap, rinsed, and hung to dry.

What is deep cleansing and how is it done with EkoElsa products?

Deep cleansing means a thorough yet gentle cleansing of the skin in several stages to free pores from dirt and sebum, allowing skincare products to absorb better.

How to do a deep cleanse at home

1. Cleanse makeup and dirt first with gentle Calendula Cleansing Oil Milk using the terrycloth side of EkoElsa's Eco Cloth.

2. After oil cleansing, choose a suitable EkoElsa facial soap: Carrot-Oat or Sisu Activated Charcoal Salt Soap. Lather the soap in your hands and gently rub the foam onto your face. Rinse well with water.

3. Finish the cleansing with EkoElsa's Organic Rose Water using the linen side of the Eco Cloth.

4. Treat yourself to a pampering facial mask with deep-cleansing Bentonite Clay (approx. once a week).

5. If your skin feels like it needs extra moisture, use the nourishing and moisturizing, pure creamy shea butter . It is especially suitable as a night cream after cleansing in the evening.
